Gratitude

I am thankful to live in a country that provides and protects my freedom, allows me to speak my mind on any issue, and allows me to pursue God as my faith dictates, without ridicule or persecution.

Today is the beginning of the season of Thanksgiving and celebration of our blessings. Sometimes it’s hard to remember in these turbulent and stressful times how much we have for which we should be grateful. We think of the problems more than the process. The process is to care for and love each other, and to build personal relationships based on integrity and mutual respect.

Today I am grateful for family, for good friends, and for all who serve, from the classroom teacher to the police officer to all the members of our armed forces.  I am grateful to live in a society that respects human dignity.

Abraham Lincoln, by Presidential proclamation, established the official national holiday of Thanksgiving.  When I think about the times in which he lived, and the enormous challenges he faced as the leader of our country, to be cognizant of the need to reflect on gratitude is inspirational. It is also important for our overall psychological and spiritual health.

Most of all, I am thankful to live in a country that provides and protects my freedom, allows me to speak my mind on any issue, and allows me to pursue God as my faith dictates, without ridicule or persecution.

I am thankful and hopeful for the future.

My name is Marc Nuttle and these are the things I hold in gratitude and for which I am thankful.

For what are you thankful?
